1. We Identify the Problem
Our Board's ecosystem of expertise (including South Australia's Chief Cancer Officer, parents with lived experience, and healthcare professionals) enables us to spot gaps where families are falling through cracks or services aren't reaching those who need them most.
2. We Partner with the Right Organization
We identify the charity or specialist organization best positioned to deliver the needed program — organizations with relevant expertise, infrastructure, and credibility.
3. We Co-Design the Solution
Working collaboratively with our chosen partner, we design a program specifically to fill the identified gap, ensuring it complements (not duplicates) existing services and creates genuine additional impact.
4. We Fund It
We provide the financial resources needed to launch and sustain the program.
5. We Oversee Delivery
We work alongside our charity or specialist partner to oversee program delivery, monitor outcomes, and ensure the gap is genuinely being filled.
This collaborative, strategic approach ensures Unite4Kids doesn’t just fund what already exists — we actively work to address unmet needs in the system, always in partnership with expert organizations who deliver the work.
We Fund What Healthcare Budgets Can't
Hospital budgets focus on core medical services, but there are vital programs that
create massive, measurable impact for children and families yet fall outside
standard healthcare funding.
Unite4Kids steps in to fund:

- Specialist resources that enhance patient experience and outcomes
- Family support services within hospital settings
- Programs proven to reduce anxiety, pain, and trauma
These aren’t luxuries — they’re proven interventions that make hospital stays less

Our expertise, fundraising capacity, partnerships and networks allow charities and specialist providers to focus on what they do best: delivering vital care to children and families.

We can’t fund every program or say yes to every application — no single foundation can meet all the needs in our community. But when we can’t provide direct funding, we work to guide organizations to other potential funders, supplement their efforts through our networks, or create connections that open new doors.

Every Dollar Works Harder
The Mead family (our founders), Advisory Board members, and key foundation partners personally fund the vast majority of administrative expenses, meaning virtually all of your donation reaches children, young adults and families.
